Dementia affects 1 in 6 people over the age of 80, with over 850,000 people in the United Kingdom. 280,000 people with dementia live in care homes. Survey Shows Preference for Dementia Home Care
A recent survey of approximately 1000 home care workers of dementia sufferers in the UK found that a third reported the person with dementia as living at home with the disorder for several years. However, 83% of respondents said that being able to live at home is very important to people with dementia.
